CalmCBT does not require an account and collects no personal check-in data on our servers:
To understand how many people use CalmCBT and to improve it, we use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-109DQ8DQF0). This measures aggregate, non-identifying usage such as page views, approximate region, and general device/browser type, and it collects a truncated IP address. Google may set cookies and similar identifiers and processes this data under Google's Privacy Policy — see also How Google uses information from sites that use our services. Google Analytics does not receive your mood check-ins, thought records, or any content you enter — that stays in your device's localStorage. Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months.
How to opt out: install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, block analytics cookies in your browser settings, or use a browser that sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal — we honour GPC as a valid opt-out.
CalmCBT is free and includes a small "Recommended reading" section with links to CBT workbooks on Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, KunStudio earns a commission from qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Clicking an Amazon link takes you to Amazon.com, where Amazon's own cookies and privacy notice apply. We do not receive any personal information from these links.
CalmCBT itself sets no cookies for its core check-in features. Cookies and similar identifiers are set by the third-party services described above (Google Analytics, and Amazon if you follow an affiliate link). These analytics cookies are non-essential. You can control, block, or clear cookies at any time in your browser settings.
CalmCBT does not serve advertising and does not use advertising cookies. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated before any ad is served.
Any mood check-ins or thoughts you record stay on your device. CalmCBT is a self-help tool for reflection and is not a medical device, diagnosis, or a substitute for professional mental-health care. If you are in crisis, please contact a local emergency service or a qualified mental-health professional.
CalmCBT is a general-audience self-help app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly direct analytics collection at them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at ghdejr11@gmail.com and we will delete it.
All your check-in and thought data is stored locally in your browser and is under your full control. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data. We retain no check-in data on our servers. Aggregate Google Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months, as described in section 3.
EU/UK (GDPR): You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to data portability, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Non-essential (analytics) cookies are used only with your consent where such consent is required by law.
California (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as a valid opt-out.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
